Hello everybody!! In this tutorial, I will be teaching you how to block or unblock website using Windows command prompt (CMD). It’s very easy and simple.

Follow these steps:

BLOCK:

  1. Open cmd by searching or pressing Windows+R on your keyboard.
  2. Type cmd on run program and press enter.Screenshot (26)
  3. The command window will open.Screenshot (27)
  4. Type in notepad C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts and press enter.Screenshot (28)
  5. A notepad named hosts appear.Screenshot (29)
  6. Copy “127.0.0.1 localhost” and paste it below under”::1 localhost” without hash. “Has is a comment line meaning it is not allowed to run.”Screenshot (30)
  7. Replace localhost with your website link to block. You can put many website links there that you want to block.Screenshot (32)
  8. And then save it.Screenshot (33)

UNBLOCK:

  1. Open cmd by searching or pressing Windows+R on your keyboard.
  2. Type cmd on run program and press enter.
  3. The command window will open.
  4. Type in notepad C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts and press enter.
  5. A notepad named hosts appear.
  6. Delete website link you want to unblock.
  7. Then save.
